Cries for help

While most of us simply walk or drive by areas which look too secluded and awful to enter, life often lurks in these areas. A recent rescue of two huskies highlight the plight of pedigree dogs dumped as they were part of unwanted breeding litters. These dogs were left behind to suffer in the heat, without food and water in an area where other strays roam. They were rescued and were found to be extremely skinny and young. The male also had an awful maggot wound on its hind leg. These two huskies seem to know no sorrow. They are very obedient and bubbly. The boy is shy but enjoys hugs while the girl is a gentle beauty. They get along well and love human company. They also love their meals at Pets Villa and treasure the food they are given.

The Huskies will be sent in for a medical check-up and to be sterilised. If you are keen to contribute to their care, please write a cheque to ‘The Animal Doctors Pte Ltd’ and write ‘Huskies’ behind the cheque along with your address so we can mail you a receipt. All cheques can be sent to:

The huskies are also in need of a good home that can foster them or provide them with a forever home to call their own. Foster care will allow them time to recover and be loved which is exactly what these lovable dogs need. Pets Villa has also opened her doors to Buggy. Buggy is a lovely little pug. He was tied outside the gate of a church here. This adorable little boy was neglected by his previous owners and developed a skin problem along with awfully long nails. Buddy is extremely friendly and will do well with any family willing to care for him for the rest of his life and also ensure his skin condition is treated. He is currently on skin medication and weekly medicated shampoo baths. Buggy is looking for a home to call his own. He is a HDB Approved dog and is really the sweetest imaginable. On our usual rounds to feed the many homeless dogs that roam our streets, the most awful imaginable happened. A foreign worker who knew we cared for the many dogs in the area simply let loose a puppy under our van and it headed right for the food we were feeding the dogs with. We are glad there were no oncoming vehicles or his little life would have been gone in a second. This little boy is adorable. His name is Presley. Presley was born into a cold and harsh world where the dogs have to fight for their food and fight to stay alive. There is little we can do but keep our sterilisation efforts going to prevent unwanted litters. Presley is a lucky boy for he was given a second chance to live life in a way his poor mother will never know. Presley has found a home this weekend and will be heading to his new home soon.

Unlike Presley, Cran another wonderful boy who has waited months for a home has yet to find one. He is great with big dogs and has blossomed into a fine young man. He is 3.5 months of age now and would make a loving companion for anybody willing to give him a chance. He is paper trained, loving and learning to walk on a leash. He will do well with a family with dogs and would be a joy to have. We are sure. If you know of anybody looking for a pet, please let them know about Little Cran. Our Vaccination programme still requires support as we have only enough to vaccinate a 150 of the dogs we house. We currently house 350 dogs. Each vaccination only costs $15. These vaccinations help to keep the dogs safe from distemper and other diseases. If you would like to help with a dog’s vaccination, do take a look at some of the animals we house that have yet to receive a sponsored vaccination.

Here are some of the many dogs that have yet to receive a sponsored vaccination. No amount is too small for these animals. Your $15 keeps a dog safe and healthy for the entire year. Thank you so very much for showing these animals that there are those that still love and care for them. Some of the dogs may have been sponsored when you read this but there are many more whose photos have yet to be uploaded. Do visit us to find out more! Most of these dogs have had their vaccinations only sponsored.

Bloomer is the sweetest dog imaginable. She loves chicken and her romps in the dog run.

Lucky tends to be a bit grumpy with adults. Oddly enough, he loves children and follows them around alot.

Lady  Cyber came to Pets Villa 5 years ago, heavily pregnant. She gave birth to a litter of puppies all of which have found homes. Lady still roams the cat side enjoying her senior years. She does not like to be leashed but enjoys pats and treats at the cat side.

Zico is a handsome lad. He spends his days sitting by the fence watching the people go by. Zico is always bullied despite the fact that he is bigger than alot of the dogs. Zico loves getting wet and he enjoys walks. Zico is a strong boy and will need a special someone to take him out regularly. He loves pats and kisses and hugs.

Ally (I’ve just been sponsored, please help a pal of mine that hasn’t.Thank you)

Ally is our very own wonder girl. She recovered very well from being totally bald to beautiful black now. Ally will need a special someone with patience to learn how to wash her with medicated shampoo and take her on walks. Ally hates being leashed and left unattended. She will chew her leashes off. She is friendly and never shows aggression.

Jen (I’ve just been sponsored, please help a pal of mine that hasn’t.Thank you)

Jen is the sweetest dog that we have ever seen! She is a wonderful girl with a great personality. Sadly, Jen has the ability to jump over our external fencing and she will only come back if a familiar voice calls. We are afraid she may run away and never return so she is cooped up in the kennels a lot and can only walk on the leash outside. Jen has oily skin and can only be showered with medicated shampoo. She loves kids and can be very jumpy.

Mango

Mango is a cute little boy. He does not trust anybody easily. It has taken us years to win him over and now he is much better. He will need a patient sponsor who understands his personality and is willing to work it out with him slowly. He does not like to be leased or showered. However, he enjoys treats and can food alot.

Barney (I’ve just been sponsored, please help a pal of mine that hasn’t.Thank you)

Barney is very jumpy and does not like other dogs other than his friend Honey. He is generally friendly and loves to offer kisses to those around him once he is familiar with them. Barney is 3 legged and walks with a limp but he is still a very happy and excited dog.

Princess (I’ve just been sponsored, please help a pal of mine that hasn’t.Thank you)

Princess is a 3 legged girl with a great spirit. She is often lazing around in the kennels. She needs someone to spend time showering her with medicated shampoo weekly. Princess hates to leashed and walked. She is old and tends to be grumpy. However, you should see how happy she gets when we offer her a coloured chewy stick.

Sand

Sand is an elderly German Shepherd. He is generally a puppy in an old dogs body. Sand can be playful but listens when told.

Lucy is a shy girl. She is big and beautiful. She is slowly allowing us to shower her and detick her. She gets on well with the dogs and is always gentle. She loves to eat everything! She cannot walk on a leash yet. Would you be willing to offer her time and your patience to learn?

Detail (I’ve just been sponsored, please help a pal of mine that hasn’t.Thank you)

Detail is laidback and cocky. He would love a kind person to spend some time patting him and bringing treats for him. He is easy to shower and would be a great friend. He has yet to learn how to walk on a leash.

Chocolate

Chocolate is a very active Shih Tzu. He runs and plays alot. He can be very playful but is easy to walk and shower. He was given up by a pub owner when his shop closed down and he had nowhere to house Chocolate.

Cloud, Momo, Pee Wee (sponsored), Toby

Cloud tends to keep to himself and does not like hugs or kisses. Momo is a very playful little girl and is extremely inquisitive. Toby is a very old JRT. He spends his days lazing around with the cats.

Celia

Celia is a sweet little girl. Despite a small size, she loves to eat. She enjoys coloured sticks as a treat!

Cha Cha

Cha Cha is a very naughty boy. He was caught by the authorities but has now found hope at Pets Villa. He is one of the little tyrants at Pets Villa.

Kangaroo

Kangaroo was rescued and placed at Pets Villa. She is healthy, happy and always tilts her head sideward when her name is called! She is playful girl!

Puteh

Puteh is another senior dog we house. Puteh is almost blind but he is so smart. He can easily find his way around the kennels and gardens without any difficulty. He is a fan of rawhides and hates being bullied!

The above are just some of the many residents we house that are in need of sponsorship of a vaccination that will protect them for the year ahead. Please help us help them!
