Round and round the kennel he would circle, trying to grab a sense of direction. His nose twitches and he takes a step forward, only to knock himself against the cold, metal gate.
Disturbed and unsure, Rayda would tremble in fear. “Where is this place that’s so unfamiliar? Wasn’t I home with the ones that I love? Who are these terrors barking this is their turf!”
Rayda joined our family after his rescuer saw an adoption ad by his previous owner on Facebook. Puay Ling noticed from the photo that his eyes required urgent treatment and hence adopted Rayda to bring him to the vet.
The vet diagnosed that Rayda has suffered from eye damage for years and it wasn’t an acute problem as Puay Ling had imagined. It cost him his vision. While treatment would alleviate the symptoms, it could hardly relieve him of the chronic pain and discomfort. Puay Ling had no choice but to make the tough decision to have his eyes removed.
It is easy to be consumed by anger to hear about such abuse inflicted upon a small, defenseless dog. We prefer, instead, to celebrate the kindness that was rendered to Rayda by Puay Ling. Rayda met his first angel through a Facebook post. We are now praying that he gets to meet his second through the same avenue.
Please remember, what Rayda no longer sees with his eyes, he feels with his heart. He enjoys treats and desires long walks in beautiful places like all of his fellow canine friends. If you will be his eyes for the rest of Rayda’s life, please contact us at 9693 2850 or 9389 7263. Rayda will do best in a family without young kids.
